Who We Are

Beliefs and Practices

  • We view the New Testament as our rule of faith and practice.
  • We believe that through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the message of the Scriptures comes alive in the study and work of the community.
  • We believe in the living presence of God as revealed in Jesus Christ, and follow the person of Jesus as our model for living.
  • We believe in making a faith witness through peaceful dialogue and loving persuasion, respecting individual conscience and decision.
  • We strive to live moderately and be responsible citizens of the global community as we share God’s love and bounty with our families, our community, and our world.
  • We participate with all who witness to the salvation and liberation message of Christ.
  • We share Christ’s promise of peace and justice through worship, study, fellowship and service.
  • In an effort to follow the example of Jesus we observe the Christian rites of:
    • Believer’s Baptism by Immersion (Matt. 28:19; Acts 2:37-38)
    • Love Feast and Communion (Luke 22:7-20; I Cor. 11:23-29; John 13:1-17)
    • Laying on of Hands (Matt. 19:13-15; Luke 13:13; Acts 8:14-18; Acts 13:2-3)
    • Anointing for Healing ( James 5:13-16)
